IKEA carries big, blue signature tote bags that are extremely useful to use around the house. You can fold them up, use their easy grip feature to move heavy laundry around the house; or even at the grocery store since we’re charged for grocery bags now–but that’s none of our business.
Well, if you love your IKEA bag that much–and it’s just that serious–then girl, you can use that one around the house, and cop yourself a designer one to run around town with.
Balenciaga just came through with their “Arena-Extra Large Shopper Tote Bag” that has a striking resemblance to IKEA’s 99c tote bag. The bag is being sold for $2,145 on the Barney’s website, where it states that the “shopper tote bag is constructed of blue wrinkled, glazed leather.” How’s that for an upgrade?
There is no word on whether or not Balenciaga’s tote was inspired by IKEA’s signature item, however, IKEA is here for it either way!
“We are deeply flattered that the Balenciaga tote bag resembles the IKEA iconic sustainable blue bag for 99 cents. Nothing beats the versatility of a great big blue bag,” they said in a statement to Today.
