1. Druski Had Everybody Catching Strays In His Opening Monologue
Mr. host wasted no time setting the tone for the 2026 BET Awards, making a grand entrance as his fan-favorite Mega Church pastor character before launching into an opening monologue that had the crowd in stitches. Moreover, after leading the audience in a mock prayer, he turned his “sermon” into a full-on roast, cracking jokes about everyone from Tyler Perry and Teyana Taylor to Latto and Ray J. He even warned winners to keep their acceptance speeches short, joking, “No struggle stories, rappers. We know your teacher told you ain’t going to be sh*t. And I agree. You ain’t going to be sh*t. Just keep it pushing,” before hilariously demonstrating exactly what would happen if someone talked for too long.
2. Keke Palmer Said, “Lemme Hold That Mic Real Quick!”
One of the funniest moments of the night came when Druski couldn’t stop hyping up Keke Palmer after she hit the stage, repeatedly calling her “fine sh*t” before hilariously breaking into Caresha’s ‘Spend Dat’ in her honor. But before Druski could keep the bit going, Keke effortlessly took control of the moment, reminding him—and everybody watching—that her résumé speaks for itself and joking that she should’ve been the one hosting the 2026 BET Awards. With perfect comedic timing, Keke practically snatched the mic, took over the segment like the pro she is, and smoothly transitioned into the next award. Furthermore, it left plenty of viewers agreeing with one thing: She ain’t tell one lie.
