#Roommates, do you remember when #MichaelVick was the star quarterback for the Atlanta #Falcons? Well seems like the now free agent is in talks with his former team to sign a one-day contract so he can retire as a Falcon.
The Falcons made Vick the first overall pick back in 2001, but his tenure infamously ended when he was found guilty of hosting and participating in dogfighting events in 2007. Resulting in nearly a 2-year prison sentence and destroying his reputation as one of the already few black quarterbacks in the NFL at the time.
Though Vick’s sentence drew heavy public criticism, he was reinstated by the NFL and has since played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the New York Jets. All of that aside, Vick took to Twitter yesterday to confirm he’s a “Dirty bird for life.”
Though Vick admits to having no plans to play in the NFL again, he has since shifted his focus to the American Flag Football League and plans to play in an exhibition game next month. In a statement to Bleacher Report Vick goes on to say:
“This league could potentially be just under the NFL. It will give guys another opportunity to play the game in a safer way.”
