Lyndell Price Pleaded Guilty After Business Dispute Involving Turkey Leg Hut
According to federal prosecutors, Lyndell Leroy Price, 44, pleaded guilty on June 11 to conspiring to commit arson at Bar 5015, a business on Almeda Road owned by his former business partner. Court records state that shortly before the fire, the owner had rejected Price’s offer to buy into the bar and refused to sell his interest in Turkey Leg Hut, which he co-owned with Price’s estranged wife.
Prosecutors Detail Alleged Motive Behind Arson
Furthermore, the fire happened during the early morning hours of June 12, 2020. And, prosecutors said Price directed several individuals to purchase gasoline and gas cans before traveling to Bar 5015. The individuals allegedly wore face coverings, poured gasoline around the business’s entrance ramp and deck, set it on fire, and fled. The blaze caused significant damage and endangered nearby homes, businesses, and the electrical grid. Prosecutors also said the individuals involved were paid by Price after reporting that the job was done. During sentencing, prosecutors described Price as having an unchecked ego, arguing that the arson stemmed from the business owner refusing to give in to his demands. The court also heard that Price had received six sanctions while in custody related to the case.

Lyndell Price Accepts Responsibility As He Heads To Prison
Price reportedly addressed the court and accepted full responsibility for the fire. However, U.S. District Judge Sim Lake ultimately sentenced him to more than eight years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to participate in an anger management program. Price showed little emotion during the sentencing and reportedly said, “Love you, thank you,” while leaving the courtroom.
Meanwhile, four other Houston men connected to the conspiracy — John Lee Price, Armani Williams, Miziah Shepherd, and Javon Harris — previously pleaded guilty to the same charge and are awaiting sentencing. Lyndell Price will remain in custody until he is transferred to a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility.
