Fans are losing it, as former couple Rihanna and Chris Brown are showing love to each other social media—despite not being an actual couple in almost a decade.
While it’s not the first time that Rihanna and Chris Brown have showed love for each other on social media following the physical assault incident involving the two of them back in 2009, this is arguably the most unexpected. As Rihanna continues to conquer the cosmetics world with her popular Fenty Beauty line, she recently decided to promote her latest product drop with a little help from Chris Brown.
To promote her new line of lipglosses, Rihanna opted to use Chris’ song “Come Together” featuring H.E.R. as the background music. Posted on Instagram, Riri featured the sparkling new lipgloss shades around the edge of a swimming pool and ended the clip by grabbing one and offering a closeup.
As expected, it didn’t take long for Chris to get wind of Rihanna indirectly shouting him out and he also took to social media to show his appreciation. Initially, he responded by posting a simple heart emoji underneath the video in the comment section, however he took things a step further by posting the video to his Instagram stories as well with additional emojis.
The reaction from fans has been mixed, with some saying that it’s mature of Rihanna to show love to Breezy given their disturbing past history. While others have called her out and accused her of sending a dangerous message to other women who have been the victim of domestic abuse.
