Roomies, someone’s sons have been arrested for pretending to be the iconic Hip Hop group, Wu-Tang Clan. In the beautiful city of Atlanta, a group of men were riding around in a Rolls Royce, running up hotel tabs, and essentially scamming hotels.
According WSBTV, “A group of men driving around in Rolls-Royces posed as famous rappers to scam more than $100,000 from exclusive hotels, according to a criminal complaint filed this week in U.S. District Court in Atlanta. Investigators say Aaron Barnes-Burpo and another man claimed to be with the entertainment firm Roc Nation and the Wu-Tang Clan.”

Chile, these folks were staying at the Hyatt Regency and The Georgian Terrace hotel, running up tabs to $39,000 and $45,000. They went all the way AWT to pull this off, alleged stolen credit cards and all. There were even two homeless guys who were hired as bodyguards.
The ones arrested have been charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. They were successful at first because the men weren’t arrested until they tried to pull the same stunt in Augusta, GA. I’m surprised they got away with this in Atlanta. That’s crazy. Luckily, the other men who were tagging along didn’t get charged. I have so many questions. I don’t even know where to start. Roomies, am I the only one laughing? Whew, Lawd!
