TSR Foodies: While many restaurants are making the shift toward meatless and plant-based options, Dunkin’ Donuts is taking the opposite route with the release of its newest snack!
According to CNN, Dunkin’ is rolling out its ‘Snackin’ Bacon’ at restaurants nationwide today. The new item is exactly what it’s named: eight strips of bacon wrapped up in a sleeve.
“Here at Dunkin’, we’ve been working hard to formulate the perfect afternoon pick-me-up and really, what’s better than a bag full of bacon?” the company said in a blog post. “With its classic flavors featured in everything from toothpaste to vodka, bacon is a phenomenon. But, at Dunkin’ we believe the best way to enjoy bacon is simple: eat it.”
This isn’t any ordinary bacon, though. Dunkin’ wants y’all to know that the bacon is made differently from the meat used on their signature sandwiches, and instead, uses the sweet and savory meat from one of its newer menu items.
“Our Snackin’ Bacon starts its journey smoked with natural cherrywood. It’s then treated to our sweet and savory blend of brown sugar and black pepper seasoning, creating a delightfully caramelized bacon our fans know and love from our Sweet Pepper Bacon Breakfast Sandwich.”
