On Thursday, reality star, and influencer Mehgan James took to her Instagram page to detail an incident with a Lyft driver, who she claims attacked her.
She explained that she had just arrived back in LA from being out of town, and she got inside of a Lyft car as she made her way home. However, the driver informed her that he had recently lost his father to COVID-19, and he was taking the proper precautions. He gave her some hand sanitizer as she got inside the car, and the ride began.
However, during the ride, the driver had his windows down to keep the air circulating, but she asked if he could close the windows and use his air conditioner instead because she was wearing a hoodie, and it was hot.
She said, “He roles my window back down, and mind you the rest of the windows are down. So we’re going a little bit further on the 405, and I just politely role my personal window up. I’m in the backseat passenger, and he’s like ‘oh you think I’m playing with you.’”
She continued to detail how she was thrown outside of the car and left on the side of the highway with her bags. Luckily, she received a ride from a family that spotted her, and they took her home.
Mehgan continued to state that the LAPD was no help when she attempted to file a police report. In her caption. Mehgan said, “Mind you LAPD Headquarters has refused to come to my house for me to file a police report. They said since it’s not an emergency that I should come file the report during business hours.”
She continued to talk about how black women need to be protected more.
