The moment that many people have been waiting for is almost here. Our Forever President Barack Obama announced on Thursday that his highly anticipated memoir will be dropping this November.
According to ABC News, Barack Obama’s memoir “A Promised Land” is just the first volume of two presidential memoirs, and in the book, he’ll talk about his time in the White House, and also ways he feels we can heal as a country.
Obama took to social media to announce the book and its November 17th release date and said, “There’s no feeling like finishing a book, and I’m proud of this one. I’ve spent the last few years reflecting on my presidency, and in A Promised Land I’ve tried to provide an honest accounting of my presidential campaign and my time in office.”
He continued to detail that the book would cover, “key events and people who shaped it, my take on what I got right and the mistakes I made, and the political, economic, and cultural forces that my team and I had to confront then.”
“I’ve also tried to give readers a sense of the personal journey that Michelle and I went through during those years, with all the incredible highs and lows,” he said. “And finally, at a time when America is going through such enormous upheaval, the book offers some of my broader thoughts on how we can heal the divisions in our country going forward and make our democracy work for everybody.”
Although this is not Obama’s first book, this is the first book he’s released since leaving the White House. He will also be recording an audiobook version of the memoir. It has not been determined when Obama’s second and final volume of the presidential memoirs will be released.
As you all know, our Forever First Lady, Michelle Obama dropped her memoir “Becoming” in 2018, and it went on to become a best-seller. Her documentary with the same title released on Netflix earlier this year
