As Mariah Carey’s memoir “The Meaning of Mariah Carey” is approaching release, more excerpts from the book are being shared to the anticipating public. Most Mariah Carey fans are excited to learn more about the intimate inner works and personal life experiences of the superstar singer songwriter. Mariah tells it all in the upcoming book, including allegations of abuse by her older sister.
So far from the snippets of Mariah’s memoir we have learned that her lavish baths aren’t just for relaxation, but also a place where Mariah gains musical inspiration. Fans also got a piece of vulnerability from Mariah when she recently sat down with Oprah Winfrey on “The Oprah Conversation,” expressing the love she experienced as a mother.
“The children provide me with this actual love, and they are my actual family and I’m not worried about them trying to hurt me,” Mariah said. “I’ve never had a reference for unconditional, familial love until now.”

Sadly, the beautiful starlet also divulged a disheartening reality for her during her childhood. Allegedly, Mariah’s older sister Allison Carey at 19, drugged her and tried to sell her to a pimp when she was 12.
As noted by the Daily Mail “In a passage in her new book ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey,’ Carey, 50, said of her sister Allison: ‘When I was 12-years-old, my sister drugged me with valium, offered me a pinky nail full of cocaine, inflicted me with third degree burns and tried to sell me out to a pimp.”
Mariah also mentioned her brother Morgan Carey and sister Allison contributed to their strained relationship. In her memoir, she said: “Through all the years, both my sister and my brother have put me on the chopping block, sold lies to any gossip or rag or trashy website that would buy or listen,” as noted by Hot 97.
Mariah does have forgiveness in her heart despite her experiences. “I have forgiveness in my heart, and so I forgive them, but I am not trying to invite anybody to come hang out over here,” Mariah said. “I think they’re very broken, and I feel sad for them.” Mariah’s memoir will be released on September 29.
