While the city of Atlanta is said to be one of the major hubs of sex trafficking, Atlanta rapper John-Michael “Cash Out” Hakim Gibson is accused of contributing to the problem.
According to WSBTV, the rapper faces a 13-count indictment that includes rape, sex trafficking, aggravated sodomy, and luring women into prostitution.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said:
The most troubling aspect of this case is that women have been victimized and brutalized within our community by people who had a chance to do something else with their lives.
Accused of using his celebrity to manipulate women, prosecutors say the 31-year-old is responsible for running a criminal enterprise.
Fulton County deputy district attorney Earnell Winfrey conformed they rescued two women.
She also added:
“Some of these women are our most vulnerable women and he lured them in, let them believe that he cared about them and that he would take care of them, only to flip the script and then began to pimp them out.”
Winfrey also stated that while the rapper is facing indictments, he is part of a larger organization facing a 41-count indictment.
Police also accused Cash Out of beating a victim with a belt.
He’s accused … of whipping a young lady who’s a sex worker, and this was one of the girls that he had recruited.
The rapper is facing 25-years-to-life.
