A Delta Airlines Passenger Could’ve Died Because A Flight Attendant Refused To Believe A Black Woman Was A Doctor

You might want to have a seat and grab something to cool you off because this story is about to have your blood boiling.

Tamika Cross, an African American doctor, details a cringeworthy experience she had with Delta Airlines while on a flight from Detroit.

Apparently, a woman started screaming because her husband was unresponsive, and a flight attendant yelled, “call overhead for a physician on board.” Tamika describes raising her hand to get the attendants attention who then said to her, “oh no sweetie put your hand down, we are looking for actual physicians or nurses, or some type of medical personnel–we don’t have time to talk to you.” I know what you’re thinking. ‘No she didn’t’ right?

The airline then took to their overhead speakers to announce for, “any physician on board to press their buttons.” Tamika says she stared at her attendant as she pressed her button as directed, and you won’t believe what Tamika says the attendant said next.

“Oh wow, you’re an actual physician?” Chile.. Somebody give this woman a reality check. “Let me see your credentials” she continued. “What type of doctor are you? Where do you work? Why were you in Detroit?”

I’m going to need this lady to not be asking all these questions when someone’s life is at stake. ‘Why were you in Detroit?’ Really lady…?

Read Tamika’s full Facebook status here where she details how the attendant chooses to work with a white male who came up to them and said he too was a physician, and was apparently more suitable to the flight attendant because “he had credentials,” in which he actually hadn’t even provided any, according to Tameka.
