More than two decades after winning ‘America’s Next Top Model’ cycle 1, Adrianne Curry is calling out Tyra Banks, claiming a makeover on the hit show led to her being “partially bald” 22 years later. Yep, you read that right! The OG winner says Tyra’s creative direction for her new look ended up doing permanent damage to her scalp.

Tyra’s Makeover Allegedly Left Adrianne Partially Bald
In a video posted to her Instagram, Adrianne got real about what allegedly went down behind the scenes of the makeover episode. She says Tyra instructed stylists to install a weave — even after they warned it could destroy her hair. “The Black stylists that were putting it in pulled her aside. I heard them tell her, ‘This white chick’s hair is too fragile for this,’” Adrianne recalled. Tyra allegedly told them to “just do it.” According to Adrianne, the process turned painful fast — halfway through, she says she developed an “oozing wound” from the braids and lost chunks of her hair.
Hair Trauma, Tyra Banks Style
After leaving the show, Adrianne Curry said she went back to her hometown in Illinois to have the weave safely removed, but she couldn’t tell the salon where it came from due to her NDA. The model revealed it took “hours and hours” to take it out, leaving her with scabs, a patchy mullet, and permanent bald spots near her temple. “It’s permanently damaged from that weave,” she said, adding that it was so bad, one stylist told her whoever did it is “someone who hates” her.
Curry, now 43, ended her video saying she believes many of the infamous ‘ANTM’ makeovers were “done just to torture us.” She also pointed out that she’d just trimmed her hair for a shoot days before the makeover, making the whole situation feel unnecessary. As of now, Tyra hasn’t responded to the allegations — but fans are definitely talking.

Some insisted it might just be the natural result of aging, offering a more sympathetic perspective. Meanwhile, others went full force on Tyra Banks, blasting the show as toxic and arguing that she should take legal action.
