Aerosmith's Steven Tyler Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Minor

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Minor In Mid-1970s, New Lawsuit Alleges

A woman named Julia Holcomb has filed a lawsuit against Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler. According to Rolling Stone, Holcomb says she had an illicit relationship with Tyler when she was just 16 years old.

Holcomb is accusing Tyler of “sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.”

According to the outlet, Holcomb’s lawsuit was filed after California temporarily waived statutes of limitations for childhood sexual abuse allegations.

A “Teen Bride” & Legal Guardianship

Holcomb alleges that Tyler convinced her mother to grant him guardianship of the minor, promising that he would take better care of her. Which then allowed the minor to live in his home. Tyler then took advantage of a sexual relationship. Holcomb says that she and Tyler were involved with one another “from 1973 until about three years later. ”

This is not the first time Holcomb has publicly shared her experience with Tyler. Additionally, Tyler has even detailed his relationship with Holcomb in a previous memoir.

According to the outlet, Tyler wrote that he “almost took a teen bride.” He even addressed receiving guardianship of Holcomb from her parents.

her parents fell in love with me, signed a paper over for me to have custody, so I wouldn’t get arrested if I took her out of state. I took her on tour with me.

In the suit, Holcomb alleges that Tyler “coerced and persuaded Plaintiff into believing this was a ‘romantic love affair.'” She added that she “was powerless to resist” the rock star’s “power, fame, and substantial financial ability.”

How Holcomb & Tyler Met

Holcomb said that she met Tyler after her 16th birthday when Aerosmith performed at a concert in Portland. She recalled the year to be 1973. She then said that Tyler took her back to his hotel room and “performed various acts of criminal sexual conduct upon” her. Before sending her home in a taxi.

Holcomb added that she and Tyler openly discussed her age.

From then on, various sexual encounters would occur between the two. An excerpt from Tyler’s memoir shows his acknowledgment of the pair’s contrast in age.

With my bad self being twenty-six and she barely old enough to drive and sexy as hell, I just fell madly in love with her. She was a cute skinny little tomboy dressed up as Little Bo Peep. She was my heart’s desire, my partner in crimes of passion.

“I Would Barely Make It Out Alive”

Holcomb would become pregnant with Tyler’s son in 1975. She was 17 years old. However, Tyler instructed her to abort the child due to an apartment fire the two had been involved in.

I became lost in a rock and roll culture. In Steven’s world it was sex, drugs, and rock and roll, but it seemed no less chaotic than the world I left behind. I didn’t know it yet, but I would barely make it out alive… I could not believe he was even asking me to have an abortion at this stage. He spent over an hour pressing me to go ahead and have the abortion. He said that I was too young to have a baby and it would have brain damage because I had been in the fire and taken drugs.

After the abortion, Holcomb left Tyler and relocated to Portland where she changed her life. And buried her experience with the rock star.

She says her world was then rattled with the release of Tyler’s memoir, recounting the events between the two.

Holcomb adds that the memoir was published without her consent. It also infringes on her anonymity, as it appears she was mentioned on the acknowledgment page. Her name was misspelled as “Julia Halcomb.”
