Aww! Roommates, congrats are in order for this next chapter! Akbar V surprised fans on Wednesday (January 29) when she hinted that she and her husband, Shakeem ‘Bean’ Taylor, are expecting a baby. She teased the pregnant news in several social media posts before confirming it exclusively to The Shade Room.

Akbar V Says She’s Told Her Other Kids About Her Pregnancy
In a video shared with TSR, Akbar V had the selfie camera on as she encouraged her husband to share their life update. He seemingly kept his excitement contained but confirmed he was when she asked him! And while hubby is sure their little one is a boy, Akbar V is hoping for a daughter. “…so I can dress her up like a doll,” the mother-to-be said.
V also confirmed in the clip that she’s told her kids about her bun in the oven. In 2020, the former reality TV star confirmed on social media posts that she has five children. It appears the unborn child will be her and Bean’s first kid together.
As mentioned, Akbar V teased her pregnancy before the selfie video with Bean. V’s first post showed her sitting at a dinner table with a slight baby bump. Her caption said, “I pray for a son, my husband wants one.”
Her comment section indicated that fans thought she might be telling a joke. Then came the next two posts. The second one showed her holding her bump, while the caption shared her excitement for doing it “the right way” this time.
“I pray that God show me the way and guide me through this journey 😉😘❤️ this time I can do it the right way .. married, not out of wedlock … still making money and going to all my bookings and collecting my bags. My sis @sexyyred did I know I can 😎❤️”
Her third teaser post showed a medical professional performing an ultrasound. While the clip didn’t show the visual, there was a STRONG heartbeat in the background. When Akbar V asked if that was the baby, the medic confirmed. “God knows all things,” the caption said.
Before her IG feed on Wednesday, Akbar also dropped hints about her and Bean’s unborn on IGS Stories on Tuesday.
“Y’all should see my feet do swollen, my doctor put me on bed rest pray for me,” she wrote. Adding in another post, “I’ve been dealing with so much been on bed rest for a month. Can’t do nun fr.”
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, she posted about about wanting to have a “ghetto” baby shower. “Like we eat baby shower food and dance, God, thank you,” Akabr V wrote.
V Reveals Where She Stands With Bean After Divorce Filing
Bean and Akbar are baby bumpin’ just several months after she announced she was divorcing him. That happened back in September. At the time, she shared photos of the divorce paperwork filed in Cobb County.
“I think this was the best decision I could make me and Bean kool with it he told me this was kool to post … I want him to be free and find someone who fits him,” she wrote in the social media announcement.
Later, also on social media, she called Bean a clout chaser. About two weeks before revealing the divorce, Akbar V had shared a cryptic message about loyalty.
On Wednesday, she told The Shade Room that they’re not divorced but implied it might not be off the table.
“We are not divorced. I have not made my mind up I’m just focus on my career and kids and my unborn I’m currently taking it slow because of slight complications,” she said.
