We have constantly seen women in the industry spread love and give each other their flowers. As a newcomer in the industry, Akbar V always shows love to the greats who set the standard before her, like Nicki Minaj and Missy Elliot. Akbar isn’t afraid to shoot her shot and manifest working with the artists she grew up listening to. Today she hopped on Twitter and showed Missy Elliott love and told her how she wanted to work with her in the future.
Akbar tweeted about Missy’s 1999 song ‘Hot Boyz’ and quickly got her attention. Missy responded by tweeting a few purple heart emojis, so Akbar took the opportunity to shoot her shot. She tweeted, ”I legit grew up off @MissyElliott I can’t wait to work with you … It’s coming, I know.” Missy responded, “You know I got mad, love 4 you.” Akbar continued, ”Yes, you do, and I have always said you had given me advice before I became who I was born to be. I remember you told me to get my Bible and read it and be in my kid’s life when I was thugging in streets. I’ll never forget thank you, OG… It’s finally about to happen. I’m bout to blow blow.”
She didn’t stop there. She also tweeted Timbaland, letting him know that she wanted him to produce a song for her. Akbar has been going hard on Twitter ever since her Instagram page was recently deleted.
It’s unclear why her page got deleted, but we’ve seen it happen to Boosie and Blueface before. Akbar jokingly tweeted that Porsha Williams was the reason why her account was deleted after she commented on her new relationship with Simon Guobadia.
