Both Alicia and John proved that throughout the years that they are not only amazing when it comes to the piano, but also when it comes to their pen game. The two artists joined forces with their pianos to not only team up together to collaborate on a few songs, but to show their greatness as individuals.
They gave us some love songs to vibe to, and also some up-tempo songs that have always been some party starters.
At the start of the battle, they performed “Redemption Song,” together before going off into their hit singles. Alicia then went first and chose “Ghetto Story,” which she was featured on with dancehall artist Cham. John Legend then went into a quick music lesson and revealed that he met Lauryn Hill back in the day, and he played a few songs for her, and he ended up playing the piano on her hit single “Everything Is Everything,” off of her classic album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”
From there, the hits started to flow as Alicia Keys played songs such as Eve’s “Gangsta Lovin,” and Usher’s “My Boo,” which were both hit singles she was featured on. She even played her other hits such as “Karma,” “New York,” “Teenage Love Affair,” “If I Ain’t Got You,” and so many other hits.
John Legend came through with “Ordinary People,” “Heaven Only Knows,” “This Time,” “Greenlight,” “Tonight,” and many other hits from his catalog.
