Amazon has recently made headlines for reportedly rolling back some of its DEI initiatives amid Donald Trump’s taking office. The move has reportedly sparked some customers to boycott the company. Despite this, Amazon has championed its Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program. The program reportedly empowers minority entrepreneurs to build and run their own delivery businesses.
Now, The Shade Room’s Justin Carter is going behind the scenes to learn more about Amazon’s DSP program and how it’s making a difference on ‘TSR Investigates.’
More About Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner Program
Justin Carter stopped by an Amazon delivery station in Columbus, Georgia. There, Carter ran down the delivery process and what happens after a customer hits “checkout” on their online purchase. Per Carter, the package originates from the Amazon seller and then hits the regional warehouse before it arrives at a delivery site.
But what’s a delivery service partner, and why’s it important?
“I’m a partner of Amazon [and] I deliver packages on behalf of them,” J. Jackson, founder of Jacky Strong Logistics, explained to Carter.
When he began his partnership and business three years ago, Jackson reportedly had around 20 employees. To date, he reportedly has hired over 120 employees.

According to Carter, Jackson relocated his business from Atlanta to Columbus. He believes the opportunity Amazon has provided him with has set a positive example for fellow entrepreneurs and for his children.
“I’m extremely proud to be a Black entrepreneur here in this city and to give back to the city where I’m from, and that has done so much for me. And for my kids, especially, to see someone that looks like them own a business in this area,” Jackson explained to Carter.
