The American Girl doll brand has come under extreme public backlash for a book that “encourages young girls to explore their identity” and offers information “about transitioning,” as reported by TMZ.
Parents should know that American Girl guide books — which used to be pretty good — now promote dangerous gender ideology to little girls as young as 3. If you love your daughters, protect your daughters by avoiding this company. https://t.co/q3cVPKKusQ

According to Fox Business, the novel “advises children struggling with body image” to ask their doctors for “puberty-blocking medications” if they feel unsure about their gender but are not yet ready to make a permanent change. In addition, the novel encourages children to seek transgender support from trusted “organizations across the country” — even if they have to do so without parental consent.
Despite the backlash, the company has doubled down on its decision to release the novel, titled A Smart Girl’s Guide: Body Image Book.
American Girl shared an exclusive statement with TMZ.
We value the views and feedback of our customers and acknowledge the perspectives on this issue. The content in this book, geared for kids 10+, was developed in partnership with medical and adolescent care professionals and consistently emphasizes the importance of having conversations and discussing any feelings with parents or trusted adults. We are committed to delivering content that leaves our readers feeling informed, confident, and positive about themselves.
The Book
The subtitle of the 96-page book, intended for children age 10 and older, reads, “how to love yourself, live life to the fullest, and celebrate all kinds of bodies.” According to the American Girl website, the book includes “activities, tips, crafts, and real-girl stories.” The description reads that the novel is a “feel-good reminder that all bodies are worthy of love and respect.”
However, many parents have come to feel otherwise, calling the book “deceptive” and “dangerous,” as reported by the Daily Mail. According to the outlet, a passage in the book reads:
If you haven’t gone through puberty yet, the doctor might offer medicine to delay your body’s changes, giving you more time to think about your gender identity.
Another:
Parts of your body may make you feel uncomfortable and you may want to change the way you look. That’s totally OK! You can appreciate your body for everything it allows you to experience and still want to change certain things about it.
Parental Reactions
Parents have wasted no time sharing their thoughts on the body image book. Many have taken to Instagram, leaving comments on the brand’s recent posts.
You’ve gone from telling girls to love and care for their bodies to telling them they might need puberty blockers if they don’t like themselves. This is a deadly message, and you deserve every single bit of backlash you’re getting and then some.
I just saw a write up on your Body Image book for girls. ARE YOU Kidding? I’m in shock! Truly disgraceful. Your company has chosen this road, may it live with the consequences. I will no longer purchase your products.
I’ve spent so much money with you all… had faith in your company to promote healthy body images for young girls. Disgusting choice to push gender reassignment on children. No. No. No.
Disappointed in this brand for folding into woke culture. Stop pushing this ideology on CHILDREN. Will not be supporting this brand!!!
Roommates, do you think the company went a little too far?
