Amerie Confirms Her Divorce From Husband Lenny Nicholson
Amerie has been getting her flowers for holding it down since the early 2000s. With classics like ‘1 Thing’ and ‘Talkin’ To Me,’ she snatched hearts and stayed running every summer with her go-to anthem, ‘Why Don’t We Fall In Love.’ Now that she’s back in her bag and cooking up some new heat, she dropped a bomb on her fans, confirming that she has officially split from her longtime hubby, Lenny Nicholson.
BET says the singer spilled the tea during a joint interview with Muni Long on Angela Yee’s radio show, ‘Way Up with Angela Yee.’ While chopping it up, Angela pointed out that Amerie has been “locked in” with her man for a minute. However, Amerie jumped in real quick, saying they used to be solid.
“I was but not now. I’m getting a divorce,” the R&B songstress explained.
Amerie went on to say that she and Lenny Nicholson have been separated since 2023 and the divorce is already in motion. Additionally, Amerie let Muni Long and the radio crew know that she never made an announcement about it. She only brought it up on ‘The Joe Budden Podcast’ because it came up accidentally.
