Angel Reese Reacts To Jill Biden's 2-Team Invite: 'We Not Coming'

Angel Reese Says ‘We Not Coming’ After Jill Biden Suggested Iowa Hawkeyes Should Join Honorary White House Visit

Angel Reese isn’t feeling First Lady Jill Biden‘s two-team White House invite following LSU’s NCAA championship win. It’s common knowledge that the national champions get an honorary visit to the White House. But while congratulating the LSU Tigers, the First Lady suggested she’d tell President Biden also to invite the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Reese first reacted to the suggestion by calling it “a joke.” Shortly after, she stepped into The Shade Room’s comment, seemingly suggesting Louisiana State’s women’s basketball team won’t be visiting.

“WE NOT COMING. period,” Reese wrote in the comment section of The Shade Room’s Instagram post about Jill Biden’s invite.

Jill Biden first suggested the runner-ups should join the national champs while speaking on Monday. She was attending an event at the Colorado State Capitol when she revealed she was at the NCCA championship game.

“So I know we’ll have the champions come to the White House, we always do. So, we hope LSU will come, but, you know, I’m going to tell Joe [Biden] I think Iowa should come too because they played such a good game.”

Biden’s invite adds fuel to the online conversation that has been less focused on LSU’s 102-85 victory and on Reese’s sportsmanship. Since the win, Reese has been labeled classless, an f**king idiot, and had her character questioned for returning a common hand gesture in athletics. Angel returned Caitlin Clark’s “You Can’t See Me” move–yes, the John Cena one.

Despite both players expressing no beef with each other. Reese called Clark a “hell of a player,” and Clark said she didn’t see or feel any negativity from Reese. In fact, she gave “all the credit in the world to LSU.”

Still, as Reese said while addressing backlash, “Twitter is going to go into a rage every time.” Some of the reactions have been plainly on Reese’s side.

Shannon Sharpe recently gave a powerful defense of Angela–pointing out the difference in how a Black athlete is being treated for doing the same thing a White athlete did first. Other prominent athletes, including LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal, have also spoken against the backlash and attack on Reese.

LSU Tigers have not released a statement confirming or denying Reese’s social media claims Meanwhile, more Black excellence coming from college basketball! Jordan Hawkins, who happens to be Angel Reese’s cousin, also the NCAA championship title for men on Tuesday with UConn! Back-to-back wins for two cousins who grew up together in Maryland, per his talk with CBS. He said, “Me and Angel paved the way, we did it,” dedicating the win to kids from Gaithersburg!

“I’m going to see [Angel] in Maryland soon. The cookout gone be lit,” Hawkins said.
