Other Recent Honors
This isn’t Angela’s first wax figure – she was honored with a wax figure at Madame Tussauds Hollywood in 2021, marking her first such tribute. The lifelike statue, created with meticulous attention to detail, features Bassett in a multi-colored, sequin jumpsuit by Greta Constantine and Casadei shoes, styled by Jennifer Austin. Bassett’s reaction upon seeing her 2021 figure was one of astonishment, exclaiming, “Oh, Lord, I’m a twin!” and praising the realism of the creation.
In 2024, Bassett was also honored with an honorary Oscar for her groundbreaking contributions to film and culture. And she continues to break barriers—not just as an actress but as a Black woman in Hollywood whose legacy stretches far beyond the screen. From ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ to ‘Black Panther,’ her career has inspired generations.
