Angela Simmons Reveals THIS About Yo Gotti Break-Up
While speaking on Angie’s ‘IRL’ podcast for about an hour, the influencer confirmed she’s in her single era. However, Angela Simmons clarified that it’s “not by choice,” but added that she “respects” Yo Gotti. Angela doubled down when Martinez circled back to the “choice” comment. “I wouldn’t have chose it, but it was what was best, but I wouldn’t have chose it no,” Angela said.
In response, Angie implied that she felt confused, asking, “What are you saying to me right now?” Simmons explained, “I’m saying that I’m a lover, I love love. I love relationships.”
Martinez shot back a reminder about Yo Gotti publicly proclaiming his love for her, especially in his music. The 2015 song ‘Down in the DM’ is a perfect example. Yo Gotti kept up his public manifestations for years, but Angela Simmons seemingly kept it pushing. Then, Gotti appeared at her 35th birthday celebration in September 2022. The following month, fans linked them through footage from vacations in different international cities. They confirmed their relationship in December 2022 with a glitzy and glamorous New Year’s Eve photoshoot. Since then, they’ve shared plenty of lovey-dovey moments on social media, which Angela said in her interview “felt right” to do.
With all that said, Simmons also told Angie that she had ended the relationship. She said she “had to make a decision,” even though it was hard breaking it off.
“…For me, in relationships, I get really invested and I’m in, like in. When I’m in love, I’m in love which means I’m staying with you, but yeah my feelings, it didn’t feel good,” Simmons said about ending the relationship.
Despite confirming her single status, Simmons refused to reveal the exact cause of the breakup. She told Angie Martinez that “some stuff is better left unsaid,” and she vowed to “never” get into the details. However, she added, “…Much love and respect to him. He’s doing his thing. I’m happy for him.”

Social Media Smelled A Break-Up Last Month
Yo Gotti has yet to comment on Angela Simmons’s confirmation of their breakup. The exact date of the split is unclear. Last October, the former couple sparked engagement rumors when Simmons popped out with a massive diamond ring. While speaking to Angie Martniez, she finally confirmed that they were engaged and revealed that Gotti asked her father, Rev. Run, for her hand in marriage. It’s unclear if Angela kept the engagement ring after the split.
Angela Simmons and Yo Gotti both fed the rumor mill last month. In late May, Gotti shared a photo on Instagram with the caption, “Lonely in London.” Simmons took to social media the same day with an IG Stories post that read, “Hmm.” Days before on the same platform, she wrote, “I want what wants me in life. In all areas, what flows FLOWS. What goes GOES.” Subliminal posts aside, Angela has also been dropping spicy flicks for her ‘gram followers, including bikini shots. With all of this combined, social media streets have BEEN sniffing a breakup, and this time they were right.
