Angela White isn’t playing any games with her sobriety despite any outside pressures! The social media star, formally known as Blac Chyna, recently checked her cousin after he attempted to give her a lil’ sippy sip of alcohol.
As previously reported, Angela celebrated her two-year sobriety last month on two occasions. First, she shared content from a Los Angeles event that shows her receiving recognition for her journey. Then, White celebrated her 48-month sobriety with a white-frosted cake and her two children, King and Dream. The sweet moment received widespread public praise for the former video vixen’s growth.
The trending moment between Angela White and her male cousin happened during a recent livestream. The family members appeared to be at an outside event, and he’s heard telling her about a specific alcoholic drink that she should try. “I don’t drink anymore, I’m two years sober,” White responded. As he continued to describe the taste of the drink, Angela jokingly threatened to “kick [his] a*s” and said she was now almost 26 months sober.
Then, she set up her phone and playfully pretended to box with her “crazy” cousin, who continued to make comments like “You need this in your life.”After he tried to suggest that the drink has a low amount of alcohol, she said, “I don’t drink not even 1, 0.0, I don’t even want that sh*t.”
“I’m trying to plug you in, I’m trying to take her to the top,” Angela White’s cousin responded. She then said, “This that bullsh*t.”Watch the moment below.
Though the interaction appeared friendly and jokey, some supporters took issue with her cousin’s persistence. Take the roommates, for example, who slid into TSR’s comment section with mixed reactions to the Iive stream clip.
@mssinabina wrote, “Her cousin shady AF…he needs to grow up and learn boundaries.”
“It be ya own family trying to take you off your pivot,” @beautineszs wrote.
“She gotta stay away from folk like that,” @coreyether said. And @1lilbertha agreed, writing, “Oh no! Stay away from people who try to make you go back to the old you. Even if it’s a joke, temptation is real.”
@quissy_taughtme wrote, “I hate when someone doesn’t respect another person’s changes.”
“Very disrespectful. People who dont respect your boundaries dont need to be around you. Family or not,” @kayla_micah said.
@mrspoulian added, “The level of disrespect is crazy…that’s not funny or cool.”
“I cant stand folks like that! Hes an enabler but Im glad she stood on business,” @19karaoke08 wrote.
“Her cousin is not cool at all. This is why they say change your social setting too because what is he on,” @iamdrniama said.
Another roommate shared her own testimony about sobriety and outside influences. @candyss.love wrote:
“Im 6yrs sober from alcohol addiction & for whatever reason when you first begin to change your life & stop drinking some people closest to you try to make it an issue, convince you 1 drink wont hurt or theyll say youre boring or make it seem as if youre different because you no longer drink. Whats really happening is your ability to change, heal & evolve is forcing them to take a look at the fact that they havent changed, healed evolved at all. They want you to drink so they wont be alone in their misery or self sabotaging behaviors. The healthy thing to do is congratulate or just support a persons decision to do what is best for them & move on. I know a subconscious hater when i see one & when a person isnt supportive of you evolving, family or not its time to move around.”
One person we know is here for Angela White’s progress and sobriety is her man, Derrick Milano. After she shared content from her sobriety celebrations last month, Milano slid into her comment section with, “Congratulations.” Most recently, he made it clear he wants to support sis for a lifetime when he proposed to her at Howard homecoming last week. After the public proposal, Angela’s mother, Tokyo Toni, also publicly praised her daughter for her sobriety.
