According to TMZ, the singer’s attorney, Laura Wasser, made the filing on Monday. The attorney’s documents reportedly cited “irreconcilable differences” as the couple’s reason for divorcing.

Additionally, TMZ reports that Gomez filed directly about Grande’s in what appears to be a “clearly-coordinated effort.”

The outlet reports that the couple’s date of separation has been listed as February 20, 2023, and the pair had a prenup.

Additionally, an unnamed source has informed the outlet that the length of time between Grande and Gomez’s separation and divorce filing is due to them “taking the time” to “iron out” the details.

“They’ve been really caring and respectful of one another every step of this process,” the source reportedly told TMZ.

According to PEOPLE, an unnamed source also disclosed that the former couple’s split was “kind and patient.”

PEOPLE reports that Grande’s marriage to Gomez took a turn after she left to film the Wicked musical in London. The pair’s relationship reportedly became long-distance and couldn’t withstand it. However, a source has told the outlet that Ariana “has nothing but kind words to say about Dalton.”
