Ashanti recently celebrated the anticipated arrival of her and Nelly‘s first child at her baby shower with family and friends.
On Sunday, July 14, Instagram user @selenevoider took to their Story on the platform to share a few videos. One clip showed the user seemingly driving into an estate adorned with posters of shots from Ashanti’s recent maternity shoot.
In the next clip, Nelly’s hit single ‘Ride Wit Me’ plays as the singer walks out to join her family and friends. Additionally, the Instagram user captioned the video, “Everybody welcome Baby Haynes…”
A following post shows Ashanti cutting a three-tier jungle-themed cake that read, “Baby Haynes.” In the final post on the user’s Instagram Story, the woman seemingly revealed that she is Ashanti’s cousin.
According to MEFeater, Ashanti and her guests celebrated Baby Haynes at the Oheka Castle event venue in Huntington, New York. Additional photos and videos posted by Instagram user @mesan_alaijah, another woman who also appears to be related to Ashanti, seem to confirm the event’s location.

Ashanti and Nelly have had a lot to celebrate in addition to the singer’s pregnancy. Currently, the singer’s Story on Instagram shows clips from her mother Tina’s recent birthday bash in Queens, New York.
Nelly’s mother, Rhonda Mack, attended the celebration.
Furthermore, earlier this month, Nelly surprised Ashanti with a baby shower in a Dolce & Gabbana baby boutique, per E! News. During the celebration, the singer’s father recalled the moment Nelly asked for her hand in marriage. As The Shade Room previously reported, the couple allegedly tied the knot on December 23, 2023.
