Trickin’ Or Treatin’? Victoria Monét Weighs In On Being Spoiled In Relationships
Recently, Victoria Monét sat down with Complex and chopped it up about the difference between tricking and genuinely spoiling someone with gifts. During the chat, the interviewer brought up Drake, calling him a “professional trickster” and “trick-or-treat master.” Victoria agreed that he’s a “trickster,” but she also questioned what really counts as tricking. The singer wondered whether folks who wine, dine, and shower someone with lavish gifts genuinely wants to spend their coins or just have a bunch of “write-offs.” Ultimately, she said she just wants to understand the mindset behind dropping bags and popping tags.
“Do you feel like you could save the world with what you could provide?” Victoria continued, “Like, is it daddy you want? Is that like a kink? I want to know […] What’s in the mind of a trickster?”

It Ain’t Trickin’ If You Got It! Drake Stands On Being A Blessing
Well, chileeee! Since Victoria Monét name-dropped Drizzy during the chat, he slid right into the comment section of LevelUpHipHop’s clip with a few thoughts of his own. The Iceman explained that he believes investing in the people you love brings blessings right back around. He also sees it as a way to recognize consistent love and loyalty.
“There’s a return on investment in your soul for doing things for people who you feel deserve it. Whether you feel that way in the moment and they prove otherwise over time or it’s a gesture to acknowledge consistent love and loyalty the difference is there isn’t an expectation on the other side. It’s self awareness that you have been blessed with an obscene amount of money and joy is the emotion that excites you the most,” Drake wrote.
Drizzy added that it’s all about self-awareness and blessing others because you’ve been blessed yourself. So basically, it ain’t trickin’ if you got it!
“So once you have experienced enough joy from material things for yourself sometimes the only way is to see the joy on faces after unexpected gestures for others. Transactional exchanges with the expectation of intimacy are a different frequency,”
