At least one person has been killed, and multiple reportedly injured after an unidentified gunman opened fire in broad daylight on a Minneapolis sidewalk. To note, the incident occurred the day before another Minneapolis gunman opened fire, killing children at a Catholic church.

More Details On The Unidentified Gunman Who Allegedly Opened Fire In Broad Daylight On A Minneapolis Sidewalk
According to ABC News, a gunman opened fire at a group of seven people standing on a sidewalk on Tuesday, August 26, around 1:30 p.m. Per the outlet, the suspect allegedly used a “high-velocity rifle” and shot 30 rounds during the attack. Additionally, the outlet reports that at least one person out of the group of seven was targeted by the suspect. The group was reportedly standing across the street from Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.
“This level of firepower unleashed in broad daylight is completely sickening and unacceptable,” Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara stated during a press conference on Tuesday.
Per the outlet, the gunman fled the scene in a vehicle. As of the morning of Wednesday, August 27, the suspect has yet to be identified by police or apprehended.

Per ABC News, at least one person was killed, and six others were left injured from the attack. Furthermore, the outlet notes that the deceased was a male whose identity has not been publicly released.
“The damage that was done to the bodies of some of these victims is unspeakable,” O’Hara reportedly added. “Thankfully, we don’t have more people that are dead from this incident.”
Per the outlet, the six others who were injured are reportedly expected to survive. USA Today reports that five of the six people are men, while one is a woman.
“We’re doing everything we possibly can to identify those who are responsible for this violence,” O’Hara reportedly concluded.

According to USA Today, on Wednesday, August 27, Minneapolis police then responded to reports of a shooting at Annunciation Church. Per the outlet, the location is a Catholic church that also houses a school.
“A man dressed in all black and armed with a rifle was reported at the scene,” the Richfield Police Department reportedly noted on social media.
Per the outlet, two children, ages 8 and 10, were killed. At least seventeen people were left injured, fourteen of whom were children. Per the outlet, two of the fourteen children are in critical condition.
According to the outlet, the shooter was “contained,” and presumably suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Furthermore, the outlet notes that the incident is the third shooting Minneapolis has witnessed within the past 24 hours. At this time, it remains unclear whether the three incidents are related.
