At Least 14 Children Killed Following An Active Shooter Incident At A Texas Elementary School

Roommates, we are sending our prayers out to those who have been affected by a shooting that took place at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

According to ABC News, officials have confirmed that multiple people have been reported as deceased following an active shooter incident at Robb Elementary School in Texas. Of those confirmed dead are several children. Several others have been reported injured and transferred to local hospitals. ABC News reports that several sources have said that the suspect in the shooting has been reported dead.

The hospital confirmed that at least 13 students are being treated at local hospitals as a result of the incident, two patients have been transferred to San Antonio TX for treatment, and a third patient was pending transfer. A 54-year-old has also been hospitalized after being grazed by a bullet.

The Associated Press reports that Texas governor Gregg Abbott confirmed that of those deceased were 14 children and one teacher. The suspect in the shooting has been identified as an 18-year-old.

Abbott said, “He shot and killed, horrifically, incomprehensibly, 14 students and killed a teacher.”

He continued to say that the suspect was likely killed by a responding officer and that he was a resident of the area where the school is located. Further details about the incident are under investigation.

 

The news of the school shooting has caused reactions from many.

LeBron James said, “My thoughts and prayers goes out to the families of love ones loss & injured at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX! Like when is enough enough man!!! These are kids and we keep putting them in harms way at school. Like seriously “AT SCHOOL” where it’s suppose to be the safest!”
