Atlanta Mom Turns In Her 15-Year-Old Son After Seeing Him On TV

An Atlanta mother recently turned her 15-year-old son in after seeing his face on the news. According to WSB-TV Atlanta, she walked him right into the police station after finding out he was involved in a carjacking that took the life of a 24-year-old father.

Surveillance video and photos showed the teen along with three other suspects. “Police said two men were in a car at an apartment complex in East Point on Monday night when three men approached the car with guns,” WSB-TV reports. The victim, 24-year-old Terrick Matthews, was asleep in the passenger seat.

Police said Matthews tried to comply with the suspects, but they shot him in the neck and sadly he passed away from the injuries. According to reports, the men drove to a gas station afterwards and filled up a soda bottle with gas. They used that gas to set the car on fire at a nearby parking lot.

“It wasn’t necessary for them to take his life,” Detective Ebony Johnson said. “They were in compliance. They were getting out of the vehicle at that point.”

“Think about it as being one of your family members that lost their life,” she added. “You would want them to be brought to justice.”

The three suspects are now facing murder charges. #Roommates, do you think the mom was right for turning her son in to the police?
