Aubrey ODay had fans concerned this week after missing a Danity Kane reunion show amid health struggles. Known for her fearless energy, Aubreys sudden absence had everyone speculating about what was happening behind the scenes. And, social media lit up as fans tried to piece together the story, hanging on every update she shared.
This week, Aubrey ODay left fans worried after she had to unexpectedly skip Danity Kanes reunion show on Wednesday in Los Angeles. The singer took to her Instagram Story to explain that she had been feeling sick all day. And the symptoms worsened to the point of requiring a trip to the ER. Having a “broken” heartdoesnt even begin to cover how Aubrey felt about letting down fans who had been anticipating the groups comeback.
“My loves… I am so sorry. I’ve become extremely sick and physically cant make tonight’s show as I’m in the ER. I’ve been fighting it all day, spinning around in my head trying to find any way to make this work, but being sick is being sick – it’s completely out of my control. My heart is broken because I never want to let you down. I know the girls will give you an incredible performance tonight, and I promise I’ll be back with you the second my body lets me,” she shared via her Instagram Story.
On Thursday, Aubrey took to her Instagram Stories to give fans a health update, reflecting on what an intense, overwhelming two weeks its been for her. With the Netflix docu-series dropping, and the world now knowing things that were hard for her to say, she called it a very heavy time. Sharing a performance photo, Aubrey added it was the first time shes seen herself “fully released.” And, she expressed gratitude for performing on stage with her Danity Kane sisters, her family, and her loyal fans.
“What an intense, overwhelming two weeks this has been for me- with the Netflix drop, the world now knowing things that were hard for me to say and everything I’ve lears since- plus all the things happening behind the scenes in every area of business rn (almost 2 years non stop before that as well). It’s been a very heavy time. This picture is the first time I’ve seen myself fully released- and I’m so happy that it happened on stage with my Danity Kane sisters, and with my family.. you the most loyal audience. I can’t wait to see you next show.”
The show went on without her, with Aundrea Fimbres and D. Woods performing as a duo at the El Rey Theatre, the second stop on Danity Kanes ‘The Untold Chapter’ tour. Aubrey has been in the headlines recently after appearing in Netflix’s Diddy docu-series, where she read a sexually charged email that was allegedly from him. O’Day also revealed that she believes she was fired from ‘Making the Band 3’ for refusing advances. Aubrey also shared that a woman suing Diddy told her she’d seen a video of him and another man sexually assaulting her while she was incoherent.
