Anthony Edwards Reportedly Requests To Seal His & Ayesha Howard’s Ongoing Child Support Case
On April 2, In Touch Weekly published a report asserting that on that same day, Edwards motioned a judge to seal his and Howard’s ongoing child support case in Georgia. Per the outlet, Edwards alleged that he’s been subject to “harassment and malicious speculation that has impacted his ability to focus on his career.”
Per Edwards’ motion, “[the case involves] sensitive child support proceedings concerning a minor child and two high-profile individuals.” Therefore, he believes the case should not be open to the public.
“The media has already published details that sensationalize the proceedings rather than serve any legitimate public interest, including private text messages, the DNA test, and information about children not subject to this proceeding,” the motion reportedly adds. “Public access to these records has invited unwanted interference from the general public, online commentators, and social media users, which has resulted in harassment, doxxing, and malicious speculation that has impacted the parties and their ability to focus on their career and their children’s well-being.”
Ayesha Howard Reportedly Reacts As Courtside Fan Heckles AE
On April 3, In Touch published a report asserting that Howard informed the court that she’s unemployed and relying on “family support” to care for her and Edward’s infant daughter, Aubri Summers. Therefore, Howard reportedly requested that the judge grant her temporary monthly child support until a definitive and more permanent amount was determined by the court.
Then, on April 16, Howard reportedly addressed Edwards’ request to seal their case, per In Touch. She reportedly argued that the case has been open to the public for at least six months. Additionally, she isn’t “aware of any undue harm resulting from such access.”
“To date, [Ayesha] has not experienced any public interference, harassment, or adverse treatment related to the pending litigation, either personally or on behalf of the minor child,” her lawyer reportedly asserted in the docs.
Instead, Howard asserted that she believes the “primary motivation” behind Edwards’ request is “to mitigate potential damage to his public image, particularly following media reports regarding his unwillingness to seek custodial rights.”
However, she believes this is not a legitimate reason to seal the case from public access.
“Media coverage thus far has been limited to factual reporting and public commentary, which is to be expected given the parties’ public status,” her response reportedly asserted.
More Details On Anthony Edwards & Ayesha Howard’s Ongoing Child Support Case
As The Shade Room previously reported, Ayesha Howard welcomed her second child, Aubri Summers Howard, on October 14, 2024. By December of that year, a paternity test reportedly confirmed Anthony Edwards as the infant’s biological father. However, by February, Edwards reportedly informed the court he was not interested in custody of the child. Instead, he believed the only matter to be determined was “financial in nature,” per The Shade Room.
By April, a rumor went viral, alleging Edwards offered to pay 18 years of child support for Aubri upfront. Subsequently, Howard denied the chatter in an exclusive statement to The Shade Room.
According to In Touch, the judge has yet to make a ruling on the child support matter between Edwards and Howard. Nonetheless, this hasn’t stopped courtside fans from heckling Edwards at recent NBA games.
In a recent instance, Edwards actually responded to a fan who repeatedly asked, “Where your kids at?!”
