Roommates, as summer continues to heat up, some relationships are experiencing a cold season. Another marriage is likely nearing it end. According to reports by TMZ, singer Babyface and his wife Nicole Pantenburg are ending their marriage after seven years together.
“After much thought and with great sadness, we have decided to end our marriage, the couple told TMZ in a joint statement. “We continue to care and have respect for one another and share eternal love for our daughter and her well-being. We ask for personal privacy for ourselves and our daughter as we navigate these new steps as a family.“
In their statement, the ex-pair did not reveal what led to the crumbling of their marriage. They also remained private about when separation or divorce papers will be filed in court.
Babyface, whose real name is Kenneth Brian Edmonds, and Nicole solidified their union with marriage back in the year 2014. Essence reports that Nicole worked as a backup dancer for Babyface, before beginning a relationship in 2007. They married in the spring of 2014 in a Southern California wedding featuring guests like multi-millionaire Oprah Winfrey. At the time, Babyface was 55 years old and Nicole was 41.
As you may already know, Babyface and Nicole are parents to one daughter named Peyton Nicole, who is 12 years old. Babyface is also a father to two sons named Brandon and Dylan. He shares them with his second wife Tracey Edmonds, whom he married in 1992 and divorced in 2005. Early in his career, Babyface reportedly married a woman named Denise, but the two never had children of their own.
