Bahja Rodriguez prompted online chatter after she claimed the OMG Girlz gave the word “Baddie” to the world. Rodriguez shared the statement on Thursday, September 17, and fan reactions are pouring in.
The OMG Girlz burst onto the scene with their 2009 track ‘Ain’t Nobody.’ The group initially included T.I. and Tiny‘s daughter, Zonnique Pullins, Reginae Carter,Lourdes Rodriguez, Bahja Rodriguez, and was later joinedby BreaunnaWomack.
The group’s song ‘Baddie‘ dropped in 2012, and Rodriguez shared a statement about the word “baddie” on X that has folks talkin.’
“my group, The OMG Girlz gave the world the word Baddie @itsSeanBankhead created the word and called us that first,” she wrote. “we in turn called Beyonc ‘Baddie Bey’ and when she first came on instagram that was her first ever IG name. just thought Id put that out there. our impact is undeniable .”
Reginae and Lourdes left the group before thesong ‘Baddie‘ dropped in 2012. Dance choreographer Sean Bankhead reportedly called his dancers baddies” back in the 2010s, according to The Shade Room Teens. Not only that, but Beyonc thanked the group with a handwritten note after they called her “Baddie Bey.”

Fans reacted after the statement was shared on TSR’s Instagram page. Several fans co-signed the statement, while others had jokes.
