Ice cream company, Ben And Jerry’s made an epic step towards the fight for justice for all Americans when they endorsed the Black Lives Matter movement. On their website, they made a very long, detailed statement about why Black lives matter.
“Black lives matter,” they began. “They matter because they are children, brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers. They matter because the injustices they face steal from all of us — white people and people of color alike. They steal our very humanity.”
In addition, they said what we’ve all been trying to explain for years now:
“All lives do matter. But all lives will not matter until Black lives matter.” As soon as the statement went viral, the internet celebrated by creating the #BenAndJerrysNewFlavor hashtag in which people from all over the world made up new ice cream flavors with a touch of black pride.
