Another candidate for the 2020 presidential run has been announced.
On Thursday, Beto O’ Rourke officially announced that he has entered the race for president.
According to CNN, he said, “This is a defining moment of truth for this country and for every single one of us. The challenges that we face right now, the interconnected crises in our economy, our democracy, and our climate have never been greater. They will either consume us, or they will afford us the greatest opportunity to unleash the genius of the United States of America.”
Many of you may remember that last year Beto lost the race to Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, nonetheless, the race caused many big names to show their support for Beto, including Beyoncé who is a Texas native.
He also received support from our Forever President Barack Obama, who called him an “impressive young man who ran a terrific race.”
Beto told CNN that the 2020 campaign has “got to be about the big things that we hope to achieve and enact and do for one another.”
As we previously reported, Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker and Kamala Harris have also announced their run for president.
I am running to serve you as the next president. The challenges we face are the greatest in living memory. No one person can meet them on their own. Only this country can do that, and only if we build a movement that includes all of us. Say you're in: https://t.co/EKLdkVET2u pic.twitter.com/lainXyvG2n
