Beyonce Gets Candid With Fans In Interview With Elle Canada: “Having Miscarriages Taught Me That I Had To Mother Myself Before I Could Be A Mother To Someone Else”

Roommates, very rarely does Beyonce open up about all of her struggles outside of what she expresses in her music. But, as she prepares to drop her new #IvyPark line, Bey saw fit to get candid about some of the biggest struggles in her life.

Elle Canada asked Bey some of the questions the Bey Hive submitted via social media, and the Queen did not hold back! One of the biggest questions came from a fan who wanted to address the folks who constantly snub Beyonce from awards shows. Bey says her purpose goes way beyond the accolades, and she learned that from becoming a mother.

“Success looks different tome now. I learned that all pain and loss is a gift,” she says. “Having miscarriages taught me that I had tone a mother to myself before I could be a mother to someone else. Then I had Blue, and the quest for my purpose became so much deeper.”

In all of her success, Beyonce is known for being a woman of strength, beauty, entrepreneurship, and  strong-willed. For those reasons, Bey says being recognized hasn’t always been her priority, but she hopes she inspire other young women to be more than what society says you should be.

“Being ‘number one’ was no longer my priority. My true win is creating art and a legacy that will live far beyond me,” she says. “As a woman, if you are too opinionated, too strong-willed, too anything, you are disregarded.”

Bey also talks about her experiences with working with female directors, which is very important to her. She says she’s lucky to have worked with the talented female directors that she has, and says they can naturally cooperate and create magic!

If there was anything you could’ve asked Bey, what would is be, Roomies? Let us know in the comments, and check out the full interview here:
