Beyoncé Interviews Solange For Interview Magazine

There is no doubt that Solange captured everyone’s attention when she ended 2016 off with the release of her album “A Seat At The Table.”

Her music brought about the discussions many of us have when it comes to the changes within society, and she even started a few fashion trends with the visuals from the project.

Recently, Beyoncé interviewed her sister for the February issue of Interview Magazine, and through this interview we got a glimpse into the sisterly bond that the two share.

Beyoncé started off the interview by saying, “I’m so happy to interview you because, clearly, I’m your biggest fan and I’m super proud of you.”

The sisters would then talk about their upbringing, and how Solange has always been unique in her own way. Beyoncé said, “I remember thinking, “My little sister is going to be something super special,” because you always seemed to know what you wanted. And I’m just curious, where did that come from?”

Solange responded, “I remember being really young and having this voice inside that told me to trust my gut. And my gut has been really, really strong in my life. It’s pretty vocal and it leads me.”

Also during the interview they talked about the creative process and inspiration behind Solange’s latest album, where Solange credits Missy Elliot for inspiring her to be involved when it came to the production of her music.

She said, “One of my biggest inspirations in terms of female producers is Missy. I remember seeing her when you guys worked together and being enamored with the idea that I could use myself as more than a voice and the words. On my previous records, I contributed to production here and there, but I was always really afraid to really get in there and … I guess I wasn’t really afraid, I was just really comfortable writing the songs.”

Solange also talked about interviewing their parents Matthew Knowles and Tina Lawson for her album. “The inspiration for this record came from all of our voices as a collective, and wanting to look at it and explore it. I’m so happy I got to take my time in that process. And the end result feels really rewarding,” said Solange.

She also revealed that Master P has a lot of similarities when it comes to her dad, which is why he also spoke on the album.

Beyoncé and Solange continued to talk more about the album, the misconceptions of being a strong woman and much more. Beyoncé even did a speed round of questions that illustrated their personalities perfectly.
