Beyoncé To Be Honored With The Humanitarian Award At The 2020 BET Awards

The 2020 BET Awards go down this weekend, and some special moments from the upcoming show are still being announced. This year Beyoncé will be honored with the Humanitarian Award.

According to Variety, she will be honored for her BeyGOOD initiative, as well as her contributions to education through her “Formation Scholarships,” which help and encourage young women in college. In the past, she has also teamed up with UNICEF to create “BeyGood4Burundi,” which helps to bring safe water and sanitation to Burundi, which is located in East Africa.

However, you all know that she has done way much more. As previously reported, Beyoncé has also been doing her part to help out communities across the country during the current pandemic. She had teamed up with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to provide $6 million in funding to organizations that provide mental and wellness health services.

She also jumped on the remix to Megan Thee Stallion’s hit single “Savage,” with the proceeds from the song benefitting Bread of Life’s Houston COVID-19 relief efforts. However, she didn’t stop there, she also helped to launch a COVID-19 testing initiative in her hometown of Houston.

Recently, she dropped her new single “Black Parade,” which is also in conjunction with a new initiative she shared with fans, which is to help support small black-owned businesses.

Other special moments announced for this year’s award show is the tributes to Kobe Bryant and Little Richard. Lil Wayne is scheduled to perform and tribute Kobe, and Wayne Brady will be taking on the tribute to Little Richard.

Other expected performances include Megan Thee Stallion, Alicia Keys, Da Baby, Roddy Ricch, Chole X Halle, John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, and many others.
