The St. Louis rapper has fans rallying behind her after sharing a deeply personal update that explains where shes been and why she chose to move in silence. While many only recently learned what she was facing, Vette says the journey has been long, emotional, and life-changing.
After privately battling cancer, Big Boss Vette revealed that she is officially cancer-free and beginning her healing journey. Just days after ringing the hospital victory bell, she took to social media to thank supporters for the overwhelming love and to explain why she kept her fight out of the public eye. Alongside a powerful photo showing herself without hair during treatment, Vette shared a heartfelt message expressing gratitude for every post, video, and shoutout she received.
“Hey Cousins! Firstly thank you all SOOOOOO much for the love and support! I see every post, video and shoutout and its truly bringing tears to my eyes from all of the love! Please bear with me Im kicking off this healing journey as I get myself back right. I have SO much to share with yall! Of course you know I documented EVERYTHING! I had to fight in private to make it to the other side but I cant wait to share and hopefully help anyone who may be going through something similar. I love yall,” the rapper shared in an Instagram caption.
On Monday, Big Boss Vette officially rung the bell and stepped into victory. The St. Louis rapper revealed she is cancer-free after quietly battling the illness for nearly a year, a fight fans didnt even know she was facing. She shared the powerful moment on social media, posting a video of herself walking through a hospital hallway as medical staff and supporters cheered her on, rocking a pink hat and a pink “F**k Cancer”T-shirt. With her viral hit ‘Pretty Girls Walk’ playing in the background, Vette confidently strutted before ringing the hospitals victory bell, marking a major treatment milestone and signaling the start of her journey to recovery.
The rapper explained that although she documented every step of her journey, she made the conscious decision to fight quietly. She shared that healing without outside pressure allowed her to focus on surviving and getting through her treatments. I had to fight in private to make it to the other side, Vette wrote, adding that shes now ready to slowly open up and share her story in hopes of helping others facing similar battles.
