Bishop T.D. Jakes has addressed his recent medical emergency, which occurred during a sermon at his church, The Potter’s House, in Dallas, Texas. The incident, which sparked concern, showed Bishop Jakes beginning to convulse on stage, as seen in a video previously shared by The Shade Room.
In his first video message since the scare, Bishop Jakes shared an emotional message, thanking everyone for their overwhelming prayers and support during this time. The video captures Bishop Jakes in a wheelchair as he leaves what looks like a hospital. He was dressed in an olive cap, a cream hoodie, and light green pants.
As he tries to get up from the wheelchair, Jakes says, “he’s so grateful to be here.” He goes on to thank the “medical professionals, everyone who texted, prayed, held vigils, and those who sent love and notes.”Fighting back tears, he says, “Thank you,” acknowledging that “things didn’t have to turn out this way.” Bishop Jakes also reflected on “not being afraid to die.” But he admitted that he didn’t want to cause pain to his children, loved ones, or his church, emphasizing, “They still need him.”
The Roommates immediately flooded The Shade Room’s comment section with reactions to Bishop T.D. Jakes’ health update. Many were happy to see him in good spirits and continued to send him prayers.

The clip shows him experiencing a medical emergency while onstage. Following the video’s circulation on social media, The Potter’s House extended its gratitude to supporters in anInstagram post and confirmed thatBishop Jakes was in stable condition.
“During todays service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour long message. Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals. The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community. Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers,” the official statement reads.
Jakes’ daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts, along with her husband, Tour Roberts, also addressed the situation by sharing an update on his health. In an Instagram video, Sarah and Tour assured everyone that Bishop Jakes was recovering well, remaining strong, and receiving medical care following the incident.
