#BlackPanther has etched itself in the history books as it has beyond shattered it’s already high expectations at the box office. Based solely off of projections, which the film is already expected to surpass, Black Panther will rake in at least $165 million during opening weekend in North America alone!
Since the film’s premiere in the U.K. it’s also wrecked the all-time record for the most tickets sold in one day! According to @Guardian, Black Panther brought in £2.67 million (about $3.74 million) on its opening day, knocking Thor: Ragnarok and Doctor Strange, out of the top spots. Sheesh!
Now, the movie’s soundtrack is pushing weight too, y’all! ‘Black Panther: The Album,’ which was headed by Kendrick Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and has sold 100,000 units since its release last Friday.
Our favorite bop “Pray For Me” featuring Lamar and The Weeknd has already landed at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
