Trump Calls Diamond’s Death “Totally Unexpected,” “Really Bad News For Republicans”

“Our beautiful Diamond of Diamond and Silk has just passed away at her home in the state she loved so much, North Carolina,” wrote Trump.

The cause of death for Diamond, whose real name is Lynette Hardaway, was not immediately known as of Tuesday, with the former president adding “Diamond’s death was totally unexpected.”

However in late November, the Diamond and Silk Twitter account made a plea for prayers for Diamond, asking “anyone who believes in the power of prayer please pray for Diamond,” who allegedly contracted COVID-19.

On Monday, Trump offered a theory about Diamond’s death.

“Probably her big and precious heart just plain gave out,” the former president wrote on his platform.

Diamond And Silk: Breakout Stars During Trump’s 2016 Presidential Campaign

Meanwhile, the duo’s Twitter account asked for any donations to be made to a memorial fundraiser page.

“The World just lost a True Angel and Warrior Patriot for Freedom, Love, and Humanity!” the pair’s Twitter page tweeted.

The sister’s autobiography “Uprising” recounts growing up “poor,” but not without class and Southern charm, which they learned while living in the Deep South where their father and grandfather were landowning farmers.

The two women were breakout stars during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, and supported him on their YouTube channel.

Diamond and Silk said they were both lifelong Democrats until 2015, when Trump announced his intention to run for president.

Trump quickly embraced the duo, who represented a demographic of Black American women, who have roundly criticized the former president in the past.

In 2017, they even attended Trump’s inauguration.

Trump’s “Most Loyal Supporters” Parlay Viral Popularity Into Jobs At Fox News, Newsmax

A year later, the sisters spoke before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, revealing reported efforts to suppress their Facebook account, a social media platform which Republicans claimed promoted anti-GOP bias

The two eventually parlayed their popularity amongst Republicans into contributor positions at Fox News. However, the network ultimately parted ways with Diamond and Silk after they mentioned on-air that COVID-19 death tolls were being manipulated to make Trump look bad.

The pair, Trump’s self-proclaimed “most loyal supporters,” eventually ended up at Newsmax with their program “Diamond and Silk: Crystal Clear.”

They published the co-written “Uprising” in 2020, which quickly became a best seller, the duo said.

A memorial service has yet to be determined as of Tuesday.
