‘Blue’s Clues’ Is Being Rebooted With A Whole New Host And Look

We about to take it back, waaaaay back, to the days of naps, fruit snacks, and educational TV. #Nickelodeon’s “Blue’s Clues” was a staple in many homes back in the late 1990s and was a fun way for many to learn.

Not only was Blue a friendly face, but so was the host, Steve as well as the show’s characters. I bet some of y’all still know the mail song, and many were shook when they found out Blue was a girl.

Well now, “Blue’s Clues” is coming back with a whole new host and a new look for Blue and her friends. According to @EntertainmentWeekly, the new show features a CGI version of Blue and all the characters– Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper, Mailbox and Magenta– along with a new host named Josh.

Some of the old features, such as the “thinking chair,” will be on the new show, “Blue’s Clues and You!”. There are some notable changes from the 1996 version of the Nick Jr. series, however, including Josh’s new colored rugby shirt, musical style, and a Handy Dandy Guitar!

Josh, whose real name is Joshua Dela Cruz, is a Broadway actor who starred in the Broadway version of “Aladdin.” He will be bringing his musical style along with a new blue striped shirt.

Apparently, Josh already received Steve’s approval as the new host of the beloved show.

“I give Josh two thumbs up! He can definitely fill my shoes, and the rugby shirt,” Steve said.

Dela Cruz played the understudy of Aladdin and a member of the ensemble in Broadway’s version of the Disney movie. He also had some theater and television roles.

“From the moment we decided to make a new version of the series, we knew that so much of the energy and magic of the show comes from the host’s ability to bring preschoolers into the colorfully animated world of Blue and her friends,” said Cathy Galeota, Nickelodeon Group’s senior vice president of preschool content. “Josh’s wonderful theater background and his natural charisma checked all the boxes for us, and of course Steve’s stamp of approval only solidified our decision.”

The show debuts in November. Roommates, are y’all here for the new Blue’s Clues? Let us know!
