Bobby Shmurda Says He Feels Like He’s Still In Prison Amid Issues With Epic Records

Left and right rappers have been calling out their record labels due to not being pleased with their contracts. Today rapper Bobby Shmurda called out Epic Records again for holding him hostage in a deal he wants to be dropped from. The ‘Hot N***a’ rapper wrote a lengthy message saying that the situation had him feeling like he was still behind bars.

Bobby wrote, “I got a 70-year-old lady running my label, and I love her dearly but doesn’t want to let me go. At all. No matter what I do. I’ve been signed to them since I was 19. I did six years in jail trying to get off this label before I came home. You name one person in the industry a label keeps signed in jail for six years?” Bobby continued writing, “Yeah ik, ik I made them more millions than they ever gave me!!! Just let me gooo.”

Bobby was referencing 69-year-old Epic Records CEO Sylvia Rhone in the post, and although he seems like he’s at his wit’s end with the situation, he made it clear in the caption that the post isn’t a cry for help. He explained to his fans that the message was meant to understand why his music and career have been prolonged.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Bobby has called out Epic Records. Last December, if you recall, he did a post and delete stating that he wasn’t in control of his music. Bobby isn’t the only rapper calling labels out. Yesterday, NBA Youngboy called out Atlantic Records on Instagram for the second time in weeks, advising artists not to sign with them.
