Boosie didn’t shy away from expressing his disappointment after attempting to honor the late Caleb Wilson. Caleb, a Southern University student, was a victim of a fraternity hazing incident in February. This month, the rapper publicly shared his plans to start a scholarship in the 20-year-old’s memory. However, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill now claims that Boosie had no authority to mention Caleb’s name. In response, she’s threatening a lawsuit on behalf of his family.

After going IN with his first response, the rapper also stated he wanted to be put in contact with Caleb’s family, but no one was helping. Boosie also talked about possibly taking his annual bash out of NOLA.

Attorney General Accuses Boosie Of Doing THIS

As mentioned, the Baton Rouge artist announced the scholarship earlier this month during his sixth annual Boosie Bash Festival at Southern University. This week, Liz Murrill said Boosie used Caleb Wilson’s name, image, and likeness without the family’s permission, per local outlet WBRZ. She’s also asserting the rapper used Wilson’s memory for event promotion that wasn’t charitable.

“Caleb Wilson’s parents have advised me that they have not given consent and know nothing about their son’s name and image being used to promote this event,” the Louisiana Attorney General reportedly said.

The AG added, “They didn’t even know the event was happening. They have requested that his name, image, and any reference to a scholarship for him be removed from all promotional materials. I intend to take legal action due to their misappropriation of his name and image to promote their for-profit event. This is not a charitable event.”

Rapper Claps Back At Liz Murrill’s Threat

It didn’t take long for Boosie to learn of the lawsuit threat. He hopped on X (formerly Twitter) to clarify his intentions on Monday (March 24). Additionally, he rebuffed the notion that Caleb Wilson’s parents did not know about the scholarship or that he abused the late college student’s memory for a paid event. Boosie said the lawsuit threat is “the ultimate betrayal” and called out the Louisiana Attorney General and Wilson’s family.

“It’s sad for this lawyer n family to say I promoted my event off someone’s passing! My event was promoted on Eventbrite since Nov 14. This incident happened a week before my event was to take place! How the f**k can I capitalize off someone death for a concert. That’s ain’t me. A death of a student won’t help a concert., it would hurt a concert,” Boosie wrote.

The rapper added that he was asked to “help the situation” and believed that’s what he was doing. Taking legal action against him while he’s trying to help feels like a “completely wrong” slap in the face. “WHEN KEEPING IT REAL GOES WRONG SMH BR I’M DONE. ANOTHER MONEY GRAB ‼️THIS IS The ULTIMATE BETRAYAL SMH,” Boosie added.

Rapper Wants To Talk To Caleb’s Family & Considers Taking Boosie Bash Out Of Louisiana

On Tuesday (March 25), the rapper circled back to X to demand he speak to the family. He said he’s been trying to bless them with $20,000 since he learned about Caleb Wilson’s death. He also alleged that Southern University nor anyone else wants to put him in contact with the parents.

“THIS IS A F**KING SHAME HOW THEY DOING ME 💯 ATTORNEY GENERAL LIZ MURRAL U CAN CALL ME TOO. THE REVENUE I BRING TO THE CAPITOL CITY IS UNMATCHED ‼️THE FUN N EXCITEMENT IS UNMATCHED. NO VIOLENCE 6 YEARS N A ROW AT MY EVENTS‼️ NOT EVEN A FIGHT N A CITY THAT MURDERS EVERY WEEKEND. INSTEAD OF TRYNG TO BRING ME DOWN N TAKE FROM ME MAYBE YALL SHOULD ALLOW ME TO BE PUT N POSITIONS TO MAKE A CHANGE N THE CITY. I’VE HEARD THAT THIS ATTORNEY GENERAL HAS A GRUDGE AGAINST RAPPERS. IF THAT IS THE CASE, U NEED TO SIT-DOWN WITH ME N TALK. I’m NOT JUST A RAPPER, IM A RAPPER. , IM A DADDY, FILMMAKER, ENTREPRENEUR N PHILANTHROPIST ‼️THIS THE REASON I LEFT THIS DAM STATE ‘YALL WONT LET ME BE GREAT’ SMH ITS ALL GOOD I WILL FOREVER BE.”

In a follow-up live session, Boosie talked about taking his annual concert on the road instead of hosting it in Louisiana.

“These people f**king with me in Louisiana. That’s why I moved from down there bruh. It might be the last of Boosie Bash. It might be the last; I’m thinking about taking Boosie Bash on the road,” the rapper said.

He added that he involved Caleb Wilson in his annual event out of love after his manager approached him about the situation. The rapper wanted to dedicate $10,000 to the scholarship and give the family another $10,000. He appeared emotional with tears in his eyes, saying it’s “sad” that his city wants to “take [him] down.” Swipe below to watch.

Details About Arrests In Wilson’s Death

As previously reported, three men were taken into police custody following Caleb Wilson’s death. The 20-year-old was pledging Omega Psi Phi in an off-campus ritual on February 27 that involved being punched in the chest. After several hits, Wilson collapsed. His friends reportedly rushed him to Baton Rouge General Hospital and claimed he passed out while playing basketball. That narrative quickly fell apart.

Caleb McCray, a Southern University alum, was the first man arrested in connection to the death after turning himself in. McCray is also a Que, a nickname for the Omega brothers. His charges include criminal hazing and manslaughter. A judge granted him a $100,000 bond, which was broken down to $75K for manslaughter and $25K for hazing.

Kyle Thurman was also arrested for criminal hazing, while Isaiah Smith turned himself in on the same charge. The investigation is ongoing, per ABC6, and could involve more suspects.
