Hope y’all didn’t put your jersey dresses and Baby Phat velour suits away too fast because we’re about to get a second surge of nostalgia coming our way! Bow Wow has accepted Soulja Boy’s challenge to do a Verzuz battle.
Soulja Boy tells us that the two rappers are expected to go hit-for-hit in late June after calling his good friend Bow Wow out for being “scared” to go up against him.
Bow Wow must have given in to the pressure because Big Draco took to Twitter to announce the Verzuz earlier Saturday.
“Soulja Boy vs Bow Wow #verzuz it’s official,” Soulja Boy tweeted.
Talk of a battle between the two rappers actually began with another suggested battle between Bow Wow and Romeo Miller.
Soulja Boy inserted himself in the mix earlier this week when he suggested Bow Wow was too cocky when it came to battling Romeo but wouldn’t keep that same energy when it comes to “Big Draco.”
“Bow Wow scared of me, man…You see when Romeo said something, he jumped right on it but as soon as they said Big Draco name, Bow Wow be quiet as hell making up all types of excuses, man. Bow Wow knows what’s up with me.”
Soulja said there’s no love lost, though.
“That’s my boy, though. I love Bow Wow, you know what I’m saying? That’s like my friend in real life. That’s like my real brother but when it comes to Verzuz and all that, man, stop playing Bow Wow.”
Bow Wow confirmed that he’ll be battling Soulja Boy while on Instagram Live following Soulja Boy’s announcement:
