His charge status currently reads: “PENDING TRIAL Surety Bond is Pending.” The victim has not yet been identified.

The fighter is scheduled to defend his WBA world lightweight title against Hector Garcia on Jan. 7 in Washington D.C. however it’s unclear if Tuesday’s arrest will change plans.

Davis, who sports an undefeated record of 27-0 in professional bouts, has been arrested several times in recent years.

Gervonta “Tank” Davis’ Arrest Record: A History Of Recent Charges

On September 14, 2018, Davis was arrested in Washington, D.C. According to a police report, he and another man started a fist fight. Punches were being landed around the upper body. It was said that someone had tried to break up the fight and both men tried to flee before the police arrived.

And in 2020, he was accused of roughing up an ex-girlfriend at a celebrity basketball game in Florida, where he was seen grabbing the woman’s shirt “with his right hand close to her throat” before dragging her into a separate room.

On March 22, 2021, he was indicted on fourteen counts for allegedly running a red light after a November 2020 birthday party in downtown Baltimore.

His Lamborghini SUV struck another car, sending its four occupants to the hospital. He allegedly left the scene in a Camaro that pulled up minutes later. If convicted of all fourteen counts, he could face more than seven years in prison.

Davis’ Former Mentor, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Faced Similar Arrests On Domestic Violence Charges

Davis’ former mentor, Floyd Mayweather Jr., has similarly had issues keeping his hands to himself over the years.

In 2001, Mayweather punched Melissa Brim, the mother of his daughter Iyanna, in an argument in a Las Vegas shopping centre.

Mayweather served two months of a three-month sentence in prison in 2012 after attacking his ex, Josie Harris, two years earlier.

The horrific assault took place in front of their three kids Jirah, Zion and Koraun, who were only 7, 9, and 11 years old at the time.

On December 6th, Davis finally parted ways with “The Money Team” following several recent turbulent months. The two boxers were at odds regarding the promotion for “Tank’s” most recent outing against Rolando Romero in May of this year.

Things apparently got so bad between the two that Mayweather didn’t even attend the Romero fight.
