Brawl Erupts At Los Angeles Target After Two Customers Refuse To Wear Face Masks—Then Proceed To Attack Employee

As the reality continues to set in that wearing face masks is now part of our new normal, there have been certain individuals that are not as willing to adapt. A Los Angeles Target was the scene of a recent brawl that erupted when two customers refused to wear face masks while inside.

According to @LATimes, Phillip Hamilton, 31, and Paul Hamilton, 29, are now facing felony battery charges after they allegedly assaulted a Target employee who confronted them about their refusal to wear masks inside a Van Nuys Target location. The men reportedly became violent when they were approached about the mandatory guideline and proceeded to physically attack the employee when they attempted to escort them out of the store.

Drake Madison, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Police Department, further described the encounter saying, “As they approached the exit, one of the suspects suddenly and without provocation turned and punched the store employee, causing him and the suspect to fall to the floor.”

The Target surveillance video shows that while they were on the ground in a scuffle, the employee suffered a broken left arm at the hands of one of the men. That’s when the second man joined in and struggled with two additional employees as they tried to restrain him. The employee with the broken arm was taken to a local hospital and treated for his injuries.

Target gave a statement about the incident, stating that “We’re grateful for the support of local police and we’ll provide any information that can be helpful to their investigation.”
