Breonna Taylor's Boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, Speaks Out-- "I Never Thought It Was The Police" (Video)

Breonna Taylor’s Boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, Speaks Out– “I Never Thought It Was The Police” (Video)

Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, sat down in an exclusive interview with Gayle King of CBS This Morning, and discussed the events that led up to the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor, on the night of March 13th.

In the clip that was released today, Walker is adamant that he had “no clue” why the police were at his door on the night Breonna Taylor was fatally shot by the officers.

“That’s why I grabbed the gun. Didn’t have a clue,” Walker said. “I mean, if it was the police at the door, and they just said, ‘We’re the police,’ me or Breonna didn’t have a reason at all not to open the door to see what they wanted.”

As you know, no drugs were found in the apartment, and it was also reported that Taylor had never been involved in any drug trading.

“That’s why I never thought it was the police. Because why would the police be coming here?” Walker said.

As previously reported, no charges were brought forth in the actual death of Breonna Taylor. While Brett Hankinson was charged, he was only charged for Wanton Endangerment–essentially shooting into the apartment of her neighbor and putting the neighbor in harm’s way.

At the time of the incident, Walker was arrested for allegedly shooting at the officers upon entering his apartment. He was later released and charges were dropped.

Since the announcement of those charges, new information has been released. According to the Kentucky State Police ballistics report, it says there’s no proof that walker actually fired the shot that hit one of the officers, according to USA Today.

The report stated, “due to limited markings of comparative value,” the 9mm bullet that hit and exited [Officer] Mattingly was neither “identified nor eliminated as having been fired” from Walker’s gun.

This contradicts Daniel Cameron’s statement, in which he stated Breonna’s death ruled out “friendly fire” from officer Brett Hankison as the source of the shot that went through Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly’s thigh, prompting him and officer Myles Cosgrove to return fire and kill Breonna.

As previously reported, Breonna Taylor’s family settled with the City of Louisville for $12 million.
